Publish to YouTube

« To Share and publish your content: Overview

Share your content straight to YouTube without extra steps. You can publish both exported clips and edits right away, or schedule them to publish at a future date and time. If your clip hasn’t been exported yet, we’ll guide you through the steps before publishing. 

  • Publish an export to YouTube

    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    2. Navigate to the relevant studio.
    3. Select the relevant project.
    4. From the top menu, click Exports.
    5. In the bottom-right corner of the video, click Share.
    6. Select YouTube.
    7. Log in to your YouTube account.
    8. At the top of the upload panel, under Channel, choose the relevant YouTube channel from the dropdown.
    9. To add a custom thumbnail:
      • In the top left corner of the preview window, click the image-01.svg photo icon. 
      • Click Upload image
      • In the file picker, choose a JPG or PNG image from your computer.
        Thumbnails must be 2MB or smaller.
    10. Add a Title.
    11. Add a Description.
      Or, click the Generate icon to generate an AI description.
      This text will appear in YouTube’s Description field.
    12. Under Visibility, choose an option from the dropdown:
      • Private: the video is available only to you and specific users you grant access to.
      • Unlisted: the video is not searchable or visible on your channel page, but anyone with the direct link can view it.
      • Public: the video is visible on your channel and searchable on YouTube.
    13. Click Share.
      Your clip is published immediately.
  • Publish an edit or Magic asset to YouTube

    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    2. Navigate to the relevant studio.
    3. Select the relevant project.
    4. From the top menu, click Edits or Made for you.
    5. In the bottom-right corner of your edit or Magic asset, click Share.
    6. Select YouTube.
    7. Export your edit:
      • Select Video quality.
      • Toggle Remove watermark to remove the watermark from the exported file.
      • Toggle Normalize audio levels to balance sound levels.
      • Toggle Remove background noise to reduce unwanted background noise.
    8. Click Export video.
    9. In the top-right corner, under Your export is ready, click Share to YouTube.
      If the pop-up disappears, you can still publish to YouTube via the steps listed under Publish an export to YouTube in the previous tab.
    10. At the top of the upload panel, under Channel, choose the relevant YouTube channel from the dropdown.
    11. To add a custom thumbnail:

Icon.svg Good to know

  • You can publish to one YouTube channel at a time per studio. To publish to a different YouTube channel, click Log out and go through all steps under Publish an export to YouTube to connect the new channel and publish.
  • Vertical or 1:1 videos under 60 seconds are published automatically to YouTube Shorts.
  • Only video uploads are supported (no audio-only).
