Most live streams include an expected delay of around 30 seconds between what happens in the Riverside studio and what viewers see on social platforms. This delay is standard in live streaming and can vary by platform.
In some cases, a few seconds at the beginning or end of the stream may not appear on the destination platform due to how live streams are processed.
NOTE:
Some platforms allow you to adjust latency settings. For example, YouTube's 'Normal latency' setting is around 10 seconds but switching to its 'Ultra low-latency' setting can reduce it to around 3 seconds.
To help your stream start and end smoothly, you can include an extra 10–20 seconds at the beginning and end. You can do this by displaying a brief “Stream starting soon” message before going live and a closing message before you stop the stream.
