Step by step
- Join a studio as the host or as a producer.
- On the sidebar on the right, click
People.
- Next to the relevant participant, click the ••• [the three dots].
- Click Move to backstage.
The participant is removed from the main feed and their recording stops. - To return a participant to the session, click the ••• [the three dots] next to their name and click Show in session.

Set guests to join backstage by default
- Join a studio as the host or as a producer.
- On the sidebar on the right, click People.
- At the bottom of the panel, click the Change this in Settings link next to People join on stage by default.
- Next to Guests join backstage by default, toggle
on.

Good to Know
- Backstage participants appear as a live video preview in your People panel with a
backstage badge. This preview is only visible to the host and producer.
- You can move as many participants as you'd like on and off stage, however each participant must be moved backstage individually.
- Producers cannot be moved backstage. If a producer's camera is on and you want them to stop being visible, the host can turn off the producer's camera on their behalf.
- In the final recording, hidden video tracks appear as black tiles. From the editor, you can remove the black video tiles by adding a scene and hiding those tracks for the periods where the participant was backstage.
