Auto volume control helps keep participant audio at a consistent volume while recording.
Who: Hosts and producers
Plan: All plans
Device: Computer browser
Step by step
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Join a studio as the host or as a producer.
- From the studio sidebar, click
Settings.
- Click Open all settings.
- From the menu on the left, click Recording.
-
Under Audio, toggle on
Auto volume control to automatically normalizes participant volumes during the live call.
When the toggle is off
, live call audio reflects each participant’s actual input levels.
Good to know
- When audio normalization is enabled, studio participants will not see Your mic input volume is low or Your mic input volume is high alerts.
- You can disable auto volume control if you want to hear participants at their actual input levels instead of the normalized studio audio. This helps you identify mismatched input levels in real time and adjust gain during the session, rather than relying on post-production fixes.
- Auto volume control is off by default. When turned on during a recording, the setting applies to future sessions in the same studio until it is turned off.
