Secure a review link with a password and expiration date

Control who can view and comment on your edit by locking your review link with a password, an expiration date, or both.

Step by step

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  3. In the top right corner of the editor, click Export.
  4. Under Collaborate, click Share preview link.
  5. Next to Protect with a password, click the toggle to turn it toggle-on.svg on.
  6. Type a password in the Enter a password field
    Or, click Generate to create a password automatically.
    The password stays visible in this panel, so you can come back and copy it again any time.
  7. Click the copy-transcript.svg copy icon next to the password field to copy the password and share it with your reviewers.
  8. Next to Set expiration date, click the toggle to turn it toggle-on.svg on. (optional)
  9. Choose 24h, 7d, or 30d, or click Custom to set your own date and time.
    The link's active expiration date and time appear below the options.
  10. At the top of the Share preview link panel, click Copy link and send it to your reviewers.

Disable a review link

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  3. In the top right corner of the editor, click Export.
  4. From the export panel, click Share preview link.
  5. Click Disable link.
    Anyone who opens the link after this sees an access expired message instead of your edit.

  • Reviewers open the link and type the password themselves. They don't need a Riverside account.
