Change recording type (audio only or audio & video)

By default, Riverside records both audio and video in the studio. To record only participants' audio, follow the steps below.

  • Using a computer

    Before a studio session

    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    2. In the bottom left corner, click the account menu button.
    3. Click Settings
    4. Under Audio & Video, click Studio settings.
    5. From the tabs at the top, click Recording.
    6. Next to Recording mode, select either Video & audio or Audio only.

    During a studio session

    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    2. Join a studio as the host or as a producer.
    3. From the studio sidebar, click  settings.svg Settings.
      If you're using the Mac app, the app opens your settings in a browser window.
    4. Next to Recording mode, select either Audio & video or Audio only.

  • Using a phone

    1. Download and launch the Riverside mobile app.
    2. At the bottom of the screen, tap + Create.
    3. Tap record.png Record.
    4. Tap Join to enter the studio.
    5. At the bottom of your screen, from the recording modes, choose Audio.

  • You receive high quality separate audio tracks for each participant and the video tracks of any media shared during the recording, including screen shares, Media Board videos, and presentations.
  • You can edit the audio recording in the editor, along with the video of shared media.
  • You receive the back-up cloud recording of the live studio session, which includes both the audio and video of exactly what you saw in the Riverside studio during the recording session.
  • A participant with their camera on can still be seen during the live recording when you record in audio-only mode.
