Configure Riverside with Google SSO

Riverside for Business accounts can set up SSO (Single-Sign-On) authentication with Google Workspace.

Reach out to your account CSM to get started, then follow the steps below.

Step by step

  1. Ask your CSM for custom SSO. Be sure to share which SSO provider you use.
  2. Once your CSM confirms, you can connect set-up the SSO, using a computer, log into your Riverside account.
  3. In the bottom left corner, click the account menu button.
  4. Click settings.svg Settings.
  5. Under Teams, click SSO.
  6. Under Choose an identity provider, select Google.
  7. Log into your Google account and go to the Admin page.
  8. On the left, in the sidebar, click Apps.
  9. Click Web and mobile apps.
  10. At the top of the list, click Add app. Configure Riverside with Google SSO.gif
  11. Select Add custom SAML app.

  12. On the App details page, under App name, enter Riverside.
  13. Under App icon, click the camera icon to upload the Riverside logo [⬇ PNG].
  14. Click Continue.
  15. Click Download metadata
  16. On the Riverside SSO set-up page, click Upload XML file and select the metadata file from your desktop to upload .
    • Or copy.svg copy the SSO URL and certificate and paste them in the dedicated fields on the Riverside SSO set-up page.

  17. Click Continue.
  18. On the Riverside SSO set-up page, under ACS URL, copy the URL.
  19. On Google, on the Service provider details page, under ACS URL, paste the URL.
  20. On the Riverside SSO set-up page, under Entity ID, copy the text.
  21. On Google, under Entity ID, paste the URL.
  22. Under Name ID, choose Basic Information > Primary email. 
  23. Click Continue.
  24. Under Attributes, click Add Mapping, then under Google Directory attributes, choose Primary email
  25. Under App attributes, type email. You must enter this in lowercase letters.

  26. At the bottom of the page, click Finish.
  27. On the Riverside SSO set-up page, click Submit.
    At the top of the page, you will see a confirmation of the submission. 
  28. On Google, click the arrow button to expand the User Access section.
  29. From the User Access section, assign the app to users in your organization. 
    You can assign the app to specific groups or users, or to all members of the workspace
  30. Go to riverside.com/login and click Single sign-on login (SSO) to confirm you can login with SSO.

  • You cannot edit the information after submitting it. If you need to make any changes, please contact your CSM.
  • All new users invited to the account should follow these steps login with SSO
