Follow these best practices for optimizing your computer's strength and reducing processing strain.
Before recording
- Ensure your computer device meets our system requirements, especially:
- If recording video and audio, your computer needs at least 8 cores.
- If recording only audio, your computer needs at least 4 cores.
- Free storage space on your computer.
- Enable graphics acceleration.
- Restart your computer to free-up its temporary memory.
- If using a Windows laptop, check your power settings or any software provided by the manufacturer to enable High Performance mode.
- If using a Mac laptop that supports it, enable High Power mode.
- Run a short test recording to test your setup before your recording session.
While recording
- Plug your computer into a power source.
- Close any unnecessary applications or browser tabs.
- If you're using a virtual background, remove it.
- Record in 720p resolution, which is less demanding than higher-quality settings.
- If you're using a Mac, try using the Riverside Mac app for optimized performance.
