Follow these steps when:

  • Your live stream to YouTube failed

Likely causes

To live stream to your YouTube account, you must have standard features and intermediate features enabled on your account, or else the stream won't work.

Additionally, your account must meet all of YouTube's requirements in order for the stream to go live.

Suggested troubleshooting steps

  • Complete all general live stream troubleshooting steps.
  • To enable standard and intermediate features:
    1. Go to https://www.youtube.com/features.
      Your YouTube account's Settings panel opens.
    2. Under the Feature eligibility tab, follow the prompts to enable standard features and intermediate features.

  • Additionally, in order to live stream to YouTube, you must also:
    • Verify your channel. It can take 24 hours or more for YouTube to verify your account
      • An error appears if you attempt to connect an unverified channel to Riverside. If you did not see this error, make sure notifications are permitted.
    • Remove any live streaming restrictions on your account.
    • Confirm that the YouTube account owner is the one connecting the account to Riverside. If you see the message No YouTube channels found, check whether the person trying to connect is the account owner.
    • Note the additional requirements for live streaming from a mobile device.
