On iOS 26 and later, Riverside gives you more control over your audio when using an external microphone. You can see and switch which microphone is being used, and you can use Bluetooth headphones for audio output while recording with a wired or USB external microphone.
Step by step
Open the Riverside mobile app on an iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or later.
Connect your external microphone.
Below the Record button, look for the name of your connected device and the microphone icon.
Tap the device name.
In the system menu that appears, select your preferred microphone.
Riverside immediately uses the newly selected input.
Good to know
On iOS 26 and later, you can use bluetooth headphones for audio output while recording with a wired or USB external microphone.
The audio input selector is only available when an external microphone is connected.
When no external input is connected, Riverside uses the device’s built-in microphone and no device name is shown.
