Riverside Custom URL Policy

This Custom URL Policy (“Policy”) governs the creation, allocation, transfer, and use of customized web addresses, subdomains, and studio identifiers (collectively, “Custom URLs”) on the Riverside platform, including but not limited to Riverside websites and studios.

1. Allocation on a First-Come, First-Served Basis

  • Exclusivity: All Custom URLs are unique identifiers. Once a specific Custom URL has been claimed by a user, it cannot be claimed by another user.
  • No Reservations: Custom URLs are allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis upon active selection within the platform. Riverside does not hold, reserve, or pre-allocate Custom URLs for users prior to registration or deployment.

2. Peer-to-Peer Transfers and Sales

If a user desires a Custom URL that is already registered to another active Riverside user, the following terms apply:

  • Private Agreements: Users are permitted to independently negotiate the transfer or sale of a Custom URL.
  • Riverside’s Role as a Third Party: Riverside is not a party to, broker of, or intermediary in any private transactions, sales, or transfers of Custom URLs between users.
  • Disclaimer of Liability: Riverside explicitly disclaims all liability for peer-to-peer transactions. Riverside does not provide escrow services, contract enforcement, or dispute resolution. Any exchange of funds or assets is done entirely at the users' own risk. Riverside will not be held responsible for fraud, breach of contract, or failed transfers between users.
  • Technical Transfer: Once a private agreement is reached, the current holder must manually release the URL within their account settings, making it available for the receiving party to claim, or submit a joint transfer request to Riverside support.

3. Intellectual Property and Trademark Rights

The "first-come, first-served" rule is subject to legitimate intellectual property protections.

  • Trademark Infringement: Users may not select a Custom URL that infringes upon the registered trademark, service mark, or proprietary rights of a third party.
  • Right to Reclaim: Riverside reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to permanently revoke, suspend, or reassign any Custom URL without compensation to the current holder if a legitimate trademark owner submits an infringement claim that Riverside deems valid. To submit a trademark claim, the claimant must provide: (a) identification of the trademark and registration number; (b) the Custom URL at issue; (c) an explanation of the basis for the infringement claim; and (d) contact information. Riverside will review claims in its sole discretion.

4. Prohibited Conduct and URL Squatting

To maintain the integrity of the platform, users are prohibited from engaging in the following behaviors:

  • Malicious Squatting: Creating multiple accounts or claiming high-value Custom URLs with the sole intent of extorting third parties or preventing legitimate brands from using their names, without any intent to actually use the platform or services.
  • Impersonation: Selecting a Custom URL that misleads, confuses, or deceives others into believing the user is affiliated with another individual, entity, or Riverside itself.
  • Offensive Content: Custom URLs may not contain profanity, hate speech, or content that violates Riverside’s primary Terms of Use or Acceptable Use Policy.

5. Inactive Accounts and Reclamation

Riverside reserves the right to automatically reclaim and recycle any Custom URL if the underlying account has been entirely inactive for a continuous period of twelve (12) months or longer, or if the user's subscription lapses and remains unpaid.
