What's changed in the studio?

The Riverside studio has been rebuilt from the ground up using the same architecture that powers the world’s biggest services, like Spotify, Amazon and PayPal. That means your recording sessions will be faster, more stable, and built to handle the demands of real production work. This article covers what's new so you can get up to speed quickly.

Studio lobby

Before you enter the recording session, the lobby now shows a larger video preview so it's easier to see exactly how you'll appear before joining. Device auto-selection logic has also been improved, so the right camera, microphone, and speakers are picked by default in more situations. You can also test your devices manually before entering the studio.

Studio UI

The studio interface has been redesigned with a cleaner layout that removes duplicate controls and makes the most important actions easier to find. The audio output and input controls have been merged, and so have reactions and raise hand.

People panel

The people panel has been redesigned to be cleaner and more straightforward to use. Finding participants, managing their settings, and keeping track of who's in the session is now quicker and more intuitive.

Media board

The media board has been significantly upgraded. You can now upload files up to 1 GB, play multiple tracks at the same time, and upload images. You can also set keyboard shortcuts for sound effects, making it faster to trigger them live without interrupting your flow.

Guest layouts

Guests can now choose to follow the host's layout automatically, or set their own independent view. This gives guests more flexibility depending on whether they want a guided experience or prefer to control what they see during the session.
