Troubleshooting: Allow sites to save data (Chrome, Safari) or turn off 'Clear Site Data' (Edge)

When you record in the Studio on your computer, Riverside saves your locally recorded audio/video data in your browser's temporary storage before uploading it. Use the browser settings below for best results.

  • Google Chrome

    1. Copy this link:

      chrome://settings/content/siteData
    2. Paste the link into your browser's address bar.
    3. Press Enter to open the settings for On-device site data.
    4. Under Default behavior, choose Allow sites to save data on your device.

    For step 4, you can also scroll down to Customized behaviors and find Allow sites to save data on your device, then click Add, and type in Riverside.fm.

  • Edge

    1. Copy this link:

      edge://settings/clearBrowsingDataOnClose
    2. Paste the link into your browser's address bar.
    3. Press Enter to open the settings for Clear browsing data on close.
    4. Next to Clear cookies and site data, click the toggle to turn it off.

  • Safari

    1. Launch Safari on your Mac.
    2. In the toolbar at the top of your screen, click Safari.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click Privacy.
    5. Click Manage Website Data.
    6. Make sure riverside.fm is present on the listed websites. This gives Safari permission to stare data on Riverside.

    7. Click Done.

Next steps

If you are troubleshooting to resolve a 'low storage' message on your computer, join a Studio again or check available browser storage to see if the low storage is resolved. If it is not resolved, follow the steps on Clear Browser Cache.
