Mute unwanted background noise (Smart Mute)

Mute participants when they're not talking to remove ambient noise and ensure the speaker is heard clearly.

Apply Smart Mute to all tracks at once

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  1. On the editor toolbar, click AI tools.
  2. Next to Smart Mute, click the toggle to turn it on toggle-on.svg
    All non-speaking portions of the recording are muted. 

    Muted sections appear as greyed-out areas in the timeline.

Apply Smart Mute to individual tracks.

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  1. On the editor toolbar, click AI tools.
  2. Hover over Smart Mute
  3. Click the settings-04.svg settings icon.
  4. Next to the relevant track, click the toggle  to turn it toggle-on.svg on
    All non-speaking parts of this individual track are muted.

Restore muted sections

  1. On the editor toolbar, click AI tools.
  2. Next to Smart Mute, click the toggle to turn it toggle-off-grey_36x24.svg off
