Step by step

  • Share your screen from browser and the macOS desktop app

If you are using a Mac and have not shared your browser's screen before, enable screen sharing in System Settings, then quit and reopen the browser. Do this before you start recording.

    1. Using a supported browser or the Mac app, join a Riverside studio.
    2. At the bottom of the screen, click Share and choose Screen.
    3. In the pop-up, choose the source: an individual browser tab, a specific window, or the entire screen.
For the highest resolution, choose entire screen. Sharing a browser tab or window records at that tab or window's size.
    4. To include sound, toggle on Also share tab audio from the system screen sharing window.
Screen share audio is not available when you record using the macOS desktop app.
    5. Click the Share button to confirm.
On a Mac, you can only share audio from a browser tab. On Windows, you can share audio from a tab or the entire screen.
  • Share your screen from the iOS mobile app

Before you start, update your device to iOS 27 or later and the Riverside app to version 4.21 or later.

    2. At the bottom right of the screen, tap ••• [the three dots].

Your camera stays on while you share, and your screen records as a separate track.
    4. In the iOS screen sharing window, tap Share entire screen.
iOS warns that everything on your screen, including notifications, is visible and recorded. To keep notifications private, turn on the Do Not Disturb setting before you share.
    5. To stop sharing, go back to the Riverside app and tap Stop sharing.
  • Share your screen from the Android mobile app
