« To Video tracks layout and formatting in the editor: Overview
Rearrange video tracks in the editor to adjust the on-screen layout of participants.
Step by step
We recommend using smart layouts first to quickly and accurately apply dynamic layouts to your recording.
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Open a recording in the editor.
- Click the timeline to move the playhead to a spot with multiple participants.
- On the recording canvas, click on the video participant track you want to move.
- Drag the selected video track to the tile you want to switch it with.
The new layout (arrangement) is applied to the current scene.
-
To apply the layout to all similar scenes, click the video canvas and select Similar scenes from the menu below.
This applies the layout to scenes that have the same participants and currently share the same layout.
Additional layout changes
You can make additional changes to further customize your video:
- Add a new scene to change the video layout for a particular segment of the video.
- Apply layout to recording
- Display a single track in the editor
- Hide (remove) an individual video track in the editor
- Fit or fill video tracks frame in the editor
Good to know
- If you used Smart layouts or added your own scene to the timeline, the video track arrangement appears only for the scene you applied it to. Otherwise, if your video doesn't have any scenes, the video track arrangement applies to the entire recording.
- You can rearrange the order of the tracks in the expanded timeline by clicking and dragging participants' names in the Tracks menu from the toolbar on the right. Rearranging names from the Tracks menu does not affect the recording.
