Live stream to Facebook page

Live stream your Riverside recording session to a Facebook page to reach a broader audience. You can also live stream to a Facebook profile or Facebook group, or schedule a live stream for a later time.

Before you start

To live stream to a Facebook page, you must:

  1. Join a studio session as the host or producer.
  2. At the top of the studio, click the justheplus.svg add live stream destination icon.
    Or, from the side panel, click Stream.
  3. Next to Live stream, click the toggle toggle-on.svg to turn it on.
  4. Click + Add destination.
  5. Select facebook-circle.svg Facebook.
  6. In the Connect your Facebook account pop-up, choose Facebook page.
  7. Click Continue with Facebook.
  8. Log in to Facebook.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. Select the pages to live stream to.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. Click Save.
  13. Click Got it.
  14. Under Choose a Facebook page, choose the page to connect to Riverside.
  15. Click Got it.
  16. Next to your Facebook page destination, make sure it is toggle-on.svg toggled on.
  17. Add a title for the stream. 
  18. At the bottom of your Riverside studio, click Go live.
  19. Click Start recording to start the live stream.
    It can take around 30 seconds for the video to appear on Facebook.

Connect an additional Facebook page

  1. Join a studio session as the host or producer.
  2. At the top of the studio, click the live stream destination icon.
  3. Under Live stream to social, click + Add destination.
  4. Click the facebook-circle.svg Facebook icon.
  5. In the Connect your Facebook account pop-up, choose Facebook page.
  6. Click Continue with Facebook.
  7. In the new tab, asking you to reconnect to Riverside, click Edit previous settings to connect to a new Facebook page to Riverside.
    Or log into another account to connect a new Facebook profile to Riverside. 
    Be sure the page or profile you are connecting to meet the requirements.
  8. Select the pages to live stream to.
    Or log into the new account.
  9. Click Reconnect.
  10. On Riverside, choose the page or profile to connect to Riverside.
  11. Click Got it.
  12. Click Go live to start the live stream.
    It can take around 30 seconds for the video to appear on Facebook.
  13. After you go live, ensure that your the permissions on your post are set for the right audience:
    1. In another tab, log into your Facebook account.
    2. On the top corner of your live stream post, click the three dots to open the menu.
    3. Click Edit post.
    4. At the top of the post, under your name, click the current audience (i.e. Only me, Friends, Public).
      If you want to receive messages from people watching the live stream on your Facebook profile, you must set the Facebook post to Public.
    5. Select the correct audience.
    6. Click Done.

  • If your Facebook page is already connected, skip the connection steps and follow the steps to go live in the studio.
  • Connecting an additional Facebook page does not replace the page you already connected.
  • You can stream to multiple Facebook pages or profiles simultaneously.
