Add video overlay

Step by step

  • From the toolbar

    Add video overlay from toolbar
    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
    3. On the timeline, move the playhead to the desired location.
    4. In the editing toolbar, click Videos.
    5. In the Videos panel, search the video library by keyword.
      Or click upload-tray.svg Upload to choose a video file from your computer.
       
    6. Drag and drop the video onto the video canvas to add it to your edit.
      Or, click the video.
    7. On the canvas, click and drag the video's nob2.svg corners to resize it or its Nob.svg edges to crop it. 
    8. Click the video overlay to open its menu. Then:
      • Click the windows_speakers-volume-2.svg Volume icon and drag the slider to adjust the volume.
      • Click the expand-01.svg Fill video icon to fill the frame, and click the minimize-01.svg Minimize icon to make it smaller.
      • Click the trash.svg Trash icon to remove the video, . 
      • Click the ••• [three dots] to change its layer, copy, or duplicate it.
    9. Adjust the overlay's duration on the timeline.
  • From the transcript

    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
    3. On the transcript, click and select when you want the video overlay to appear.
    4. On the context menu, click add_element-plus.svg Add and choose Video.
    5. In the Videos panel, search the video library by keyword.
      Or click upload-tray.svg Upload button to choose a video file from your computer.
      • To view the video larger and see more details, hover over it and click preview-expand-circle.svg Preview.
    6. Drag and drop the video onto the video canvas to add it to your edit.
      Or, click the video.
    7. On the canvas, click and drag the video's nob2.svg corners to resize it or its Nob.svg edges to crop it. 
    8. Click the video overlay to open its menu. Then:
      • Click the windows_speakers-volume-2.svg Volume icon and drag the slider to adjust the volume.
      • Click the expand-01.svg Fill video icon to fill the frame, and click the minimize-01.svg Minimize icon to make it smaller.
      • Click the trash.svg Trash icon to remove the video. 
      • Click the ••• [three dots] to change its layer, copy, or duplicate it.
    9. Adjust the overlay's duration on the timeline.
