Move, resize, and layer elements on the canvas

Position, scale, and layer every element on the canvas to get exactly the look you want in each scene.

Step by step 

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  3. On the timeline, click the scene you want to adjust.
  4. On the canvas, click the speaker tile, caption, or overlay you want to adjust.
    Selection handles appear around the element.
  5. To move the element, drag it to a new position on the canvas. 
  6. To resize the element, drag any corner handle inward or outward. 
  7. To rotate the element, drag the Icon.svg rotate handle below it.
  8. To set how widely the change applies, use the menu below the canvas:
    • Select This scene to apply the change only to the current scene.
    • Select Similar scenes to apply the change to scenes that have the same participants and currently share the same layout.

Change the layering of elements on the canvas

  1. On the canvas, click the element you want to bring forward or send back.
  2. In the toolbar above the canvas, click ••• [the three dots].
  3. Choose an option:
    • Select Move Forward to bring the element one layer forward.
    • Select Move Backwards to send the element one layer back.
