Schedule a social post to multiple platforms

Cross-post to all your connected social accounts at once, right from the content planner or from your exports folder. Each platform gets its own version of the post, so you can tailor the caption and media before you schedule.

Step by step

  • Schedule a post from the planner

    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    2. Navigate to the relevant studio.
    3. From the sidebar on the left, click Planner.
    4. On the date you want to schedule your post, click the plus.svg plus icon in the top right corner. 
      You can change the date and time later in the posts side panel.
    5. Click Social media post.
    6. Click the plus.svg plus icon under Platforms to connect a new account.
      Every connected account is selected by default.
    7. Select a platform and follow the instructions in the pop-up to log in.
      To connect another account, repeat steps 6 and 7.
    8. To exclude an account from your post:
      1. Under Platforms click the drop down next to the account.
      2. Select Exclude from post.

    9. Under Platforms, switch between platform tabs to set the content for each one.
      Each platform has its own guidelines for scheduling a post.
    10. At the bottom of the posts side panel, choose the date and time you want the posts to publish.
    11. Click Schedule posts.

  • Schedule a post from an export

    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    2. Navigate to the relevant studio.
    3. Select the relevant Project.
    4. From the top menu, click Exports.
    5. On the export you want to post, click Share.
    6. In the new window, under Share, select any of the platforms.
    7. In the Create post panel, click the plus.svg plus icon under Platforms to connect a new account.
      Every connected account is selected by default.
    8. Select a platform and follow the instructions in the pop-up to log in.
      You can add more than one account for each platform.
    9. To exclude an account from your post:
      1. Under Platforms click the drop down next to the account.
      2. Select Exclude from post

    10. Under Platforms, switch between platform tabs to edit the content for each one.
      The export video file will automatically fill for each post.
      Each platform has its own guidelines for scheduling a post.
    11. At the bottom of the Create post panel, click Schedule to choose the date and time you want the posts to publish.
      Or, click Publish if you want to create the posts instantly.
    12. Click Schedule posts.
      The number in the Schedule posts button reflects the number of posts currently selected.

Edit a scheduled post

  1. In the Planner, click the relevant post to open the sidebar.
  2. In the bottom right corner, click Edit post.
  3. Make any desired changes and click Save.
    Editing only changes that platform's post. The other posts scheduled from the same session are unaffected.

Delete a scheduled post

  1. In the Planner, click the relevant post to open the sidebar.
  2. In the top right corner of the sidebar, click the ••• [three dots].
  3. Click Remove post.
    This removes only the selected post, the other posts scheduled from the same session are unaffected.

Good to know Icon.svg Good to know

  • Cross-posting is on by default. Every connected account is selected when you open a new social post, and you can exclude any of them before scheduling.
  • Riverside creates a separate post per platform so analytics, edits, and delivery statuses are tracked individually.
  • If a required field, like a caption, is missing for any selected platform, that platform is outlined red and you can only schedule posts once the field is filled in.
