Follow these steps when:
- Your video looks glitchy, disrupted, pixelated, flickering, or has flashing waves
Likely causes:
Flickering or glitches can be caused by poor lighting, poor connection between Riverside and your camera, or automatic features on your camera interfering with the recording process.
Suggested troubleshooting steps
- Record on a fully-charged device that is not plugged into a power source.
- Confirm that the cable connecting to the device and the computer is not loose or damaged.
- Use the original cable that came with the camera, if possible.
- Do not use any additional USB hubs or adapters, as they can reduce the data rate between the camera and computer.
- Turn off any automatic features, like auto-exposure, automatic white balance, or auto-focus.
- If you're recording with software or a virtual camera app, turn off any video preview in the app or software, if possible.
- Toggle your browser's graphics acceleration setting.
- Close all other programs and browser tabs, especially those that may be using your camera.
- If closing a program that is using the camera is not an option, then try to turn off the video preview in that program so only Riverside displays the video signal.
- Avoid recording in fluorescent lighting and try to find a natural light source.
- If you're on a Business plan, you can change the studio's frame rate.
