Follow these steps when:
- You see the following error after downloading the Riverside Mac app:
- "Riverside Studio.app can’t be opened because it was not downloaded from the App Store"
Suggested troubleshooting steps
Launch the studio app directly from System Settings or adjust your security settings to allow your computer to run software from identified developers.
- In the system menu at the top of the screen, click the Apple logo.
- Choose System Settings.
- In the list on the left, click Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to Security.
- To open the app in the future, choose: Allow applications downloaded from: App store and identified developers
- Look for "Riverside Studio.app" was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer.
- Click Open Anyway.
- If prompted, enter your system password.
- In the prompt, click Open.
The Riverside Mac app opens.
