Step by step
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
In the editor toolbar, click AI tools.
At the bottom of the AI tools panel, click Apply next to Auto-Generate B-Roll.

Riverside automatically:
Scans the transcript to find moments where visuals will enhance the clip.
Generates images using AI.
Inserts each image as a 5-second overlay in the timeline.
Review the timeline. Each AI image B-roll overlay is labeled so it’s easy to spot and adjust placement and duration if needed.
Good to know
Auto-generated b-roll is limited to edits that are 5 minutes or shorter with a transcript.
Each AI-generated image overlay is also saved to your Media Library.
Auto-generated AI b-roll images can be generated once per edit.
