Understanding the results
The audio tester provides you with real-time feedback. During the test, adjust your position, gain, and any other equipment settings to achieve green levels while you're speaking.
- Real-time warnings: During the test, you'll be alerted if no audio is detected, if audio is clipping, or if the microphone disconnects.
- Recording summary: After the test, view color-coded findings (green/yellow/red) for quick self-diagnosis.
- Audio drop detection in Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge): Measures and reports undelivered audio frames.
- Zip download: Listen to your WAV file after you finish the test. This is what your high-quality audio tracks will sound like. Zip file includes the audio recording plus diagnostic files with metrics and system info. Share these with Support if you need to reach out.
If you're unhappy with the WAV recording:
- Continue adjusting the settings on your device until you achieve your desired results
- Toggle echo cancellation and noise suppression on and off to hear how it impacts your recording
- Try testing with a different microphone
