Add motion graphics overlays in the editor

Add motion graphic overlays to your video to spotlight key stats, run news-style headlines, animate your audio, highlight text, and add dynamic intros.

Step by step

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  3. On the timeline, move the playhead to the desired location.
  4. In the editing toolbar, click Motion.
  5. Preview the available options, including motion sets, stats and waveforms, name tags and intros, subscribe and follow, quote cards, screen callouts, and broadcast and headlines .
    Hover over a motion graphic to preview it.
  6. Click your desired motion graphic.
    The motion graphic opens in the Co-creator.
  7. From Co-Creator, prompt to tweak the text, color, style or anything else.
  8. From Co-Creator, click plus-square.svg Add to timeline
  9. On the timeline, click the motion graphic overlay to view it on the video canvas. 
  10. On the video canvas, click and drag the motion graphic's nob2.svg corners to resize it or its Nob.svg edges to crop it.  
  11. Adjust the motion graphic overlay's duration or placement on the timeline.
