Generate image and videos

« to AI Tools: Overview

Turn an idea into a ready-to-use image or video, then drop it straight into your edit or media library. Generate from a written prompt and an uploaded reference, then fine-tune settings like aspect ratio, duration, and generation model.

Step by step 

• Generate images and videos from the homepage

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. From the Home page, in the What do you want to create? field, click Image or Video. 
     You can also click Image & video in the sidebar.
  3. In the Describe your image or add a reference (or Describe your video or add a reference) field, type a description of what you want to generate. 
     Or click one of the Idea cards to start from an example prompt.
  4. To generate from a reference instead of, or alongside, a prompt, click + the plus icon and attach an image or video file from your computer.
  5. Adjust the generation settings as needed:
     • AI Model
     • Length (video mode only)
     • Aspect ratio
     • Resolution
     • Audio On/Off (video mode only) 
  6. Click the generate button. 
     The AI credit cost for your current settings shows next to the button before you confirm.
  7. Once you've generated an image or video, you can:
     • Refine: Tweak the prompt or settings on this result and generate a new version from it, instead of starting a fresh generation
     • Save to media: Add the result to your media library so you can reuse it across projects
     • Add to video: Insert the result directly into a project's timeline
     • Rerun: Generate the result again with the same prompt and settings, no retyping needed
     • Download: Save the file to your computer
     • Delete: Permanently remove the result

  8. To act on more than one result at once, click the grid view icon in the top right corner, then hover over a result and click its   checkbox to select it. With multiple results selected, a toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen where you can:

     • Save to media: Add all selected results to your media library

     • Download: Save all selected results to your computer as a single ZIP file

     • Delete: Permanently remove all selected results

• Generate images and videos from the editor

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  3. From the editor toolbar, click Co-Creator.
  4. In the text at the bottom of the Co-Creator panel, select the video icon or image icon.
  5. To add a reference file, click the plus icon.
  6. Enter a description of the image or video you want.
  7. Adjust the generation settings as needed:
     • AI Model
     • Length (video mode only)
     • Aspect ratio
     • Resolution
     • Audio On/Off (video mode only) 
  8. Click the generate button. 
     The AI credit cost for your current settings shows next to the button before you confirm.
     Your result appears in the Co-Creator panel when it's ready. You can keep editing while it generates.
  9. After generating, you can:
     • Add to timeline: Place a generated video in your edit
     • Download: Save it to your computer
     • Refine: Adjust the prompt or settings
     • Rerun: Generate again with the same settings
