Follow these steps when:
- You recorded with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo in the Mac app and it captured no audio
- Devices are detected, and input signal is visible on the Scarlett interface, but no input is received or recorded in-app
Likely causes
The Scarlett Solo produces a multi-channel stream (2 channels for 2 inputs). However, unlike Chrome or web apps, our Mac app currently supports only mono channels, primarily for echo cancellation purposes.
Suggested troubleshooting steps
Focusrite provides an official software setting that will allow it to work with single-channel apps. Here's how to set it up:
- Download and install Focusrite Control 2 and open it.
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner.
- Select Preferences.
- On the left pane, choose Device.
- Select Combine Input 1 and Input 2.
This setting mixes both Input 1 and Input 2 into a single channel, which is compatible with the Riverside Mac app.
