Step by step

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Navigate to the relevant studio.
  3. From the sidebar on the left, click Hosting.
  4. At the top of the page, click the Video hosting tab.
  5. Under Embeds, click the embed you want to use.
If the list is empty, create an embed first.
  6. In the embed panel, click the Email tab.
  7. Under Links to, enter the URL where the recipient lands after clicking the embed, such as your website or a page where the video is already embedded.
By default, this is set to your Riverside embed page.
  8. Under Email provider, click the dropdown and select the provider you want to send this email from.
If your provider isn't listed, choose None / Other.
  9. Click Copy email tag.
  10. Paste the code into the body of your email, where you want the preview to appear.

  • Your embed code never changes. Any changes you make to the embed settings automatically update anywhere the code is pasted.
  • The settings and style you set when creating or editing an embed will be applied to the email tag for that embed.
  • The email tag updates automatically based on your Links to and Email provider selections, so you can copy it any time after adjusting either field.
  • Analytics for email embeds aren't available.
  • Domain restrictions you've set for your embeds don't affect email embeds, since they open as a link rather than playing inline on a webpage.
  • Deleting the original recording in Riverside does not break a live embed. Existing embeds keep playing.
  • The embed works on standard web pages that support HTML embeds and content streams at the exported quality.
