Get the embed code

From an exported video
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Navigate to the relevant studio.
- Select the relevant project.
- From the top menu, click Exports.
- In the bottom-right corner of the video, click Share.
- Click Embed.
- In the embed pop-up, click Copy.
Paste the code into your website where you want the recording to appear. Your recording now plays directly on your page, and you can track its performance from the Embed Analytics.

From Hosting
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Navigate to the relevant studio.
- From the sidebar on the left, click Hosting.
- At the top of the page, click the Embeds tab.
- Click + New.
- In the Select file window, choose the exported recording to embed.
Search by name or filter by the project or by newest/oldest recording. - In the New embed panel, under Title, enter the name of the embedded recording.
- Next to Accent color, enter a color hex code.
The accent color sets the color of the player's progress bar. - Next to Hide Riverside logo, enable or disable the Riverside logo from the embed player.
Hiding the logo is available on Business plans. Other plans always show the Riverside logo. - Click Save.
The new embed is added to your Embeds list. - Under the Embeds list, click the recording to open it.
- On the Embed tab, click Copy embed code.
Paste the code into your website where you want the recording to appear. Your recording now plays directly on your page, and you can track its performance from the Embed Analytics.

From a published episode
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Navigate to the relevant studio.
- From the sidebar on the left, click Hosting.
To the right of the published episode, click ••• [the three dots].
- Click Embed.
- In the embed pop-up, click Copy.
Paste the code into your website where you want the recording to appear. Your recording now plays directly on your page, and you can track its performance from the Embed Analytics.
View and edit the embedded video
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Navigate to the relevant studio.
- From the sidebar on the left, click Hosting.
- At the top of the page, click the Embeds tab.
- Click the relevant recording.
- Click the edit
icon.
- Adjust the title, accent color, or logo setting, then click Save.
- To delete it, click ••• [the three dots] and click Remove.
View embed analytics
- Under the Embeds list, click the recording to open it.
- Click the Analytics tab.
- View the analytics:
- Total visits - the number of times the embedded player loaded on a page
- Total plays - the number of times a viewer actually started to play the embedded recording
- Play rate - the total plays divided by total visits, shown as a percentage
- Average playtime - the average amount of time watched per play
- Average engagement - the average percentage of the recording that viewers watched
- Top country - the country where the recording was played the most
- Visits - total visits plotted over the selected time range
- Plays - total plays plotted over the selected time range
- Locations - total plays per location based on the selected time range
- Engagement - a retention curve across the recording's timeline. At each point it shows what share of viewers are still watching; where the line falls is where people dropped off, and spikes mean a section people re-watched.
- Top countries - audience broken down by country, as a percentage of plays
Good to know
- At this time, you cannot change the video inside the embed or customize the embed thumbnail image.
- Your embed code never changes. Any changes you make to the embed settings automatically update anywhere the code is pasted.
- Deleting the original recording in Riverside does not break a live embed. Existing embeds keep playing.
- The embed works on standard web pages that support HTML embeds. You cannot embed content in emails. Content streams at the exported quality.
