My SSO sign-in fails on my organization's login page

Follow these steps when:

  • You see an error page on your organization's identity provider (IdP) domain when signing in with SSO.
  • Nothing returns to Riverside after you try to sign in.

Likely causes:

The blockage is occurring on the organization's IdP. Since there is no Riverside error code, the cause could range from your IdP policy to the absence of an assignment.

Suggested troubleshooting steps

  1. Check the URL of the error page:
    • If it belongs to riverside.com, follow the troubleshooting article for that error.
    • If it belongs to your organization's IdP (like [company-name].com), continue with the steps below.
  2. If the error says multi-factor authentication, conditional access, or a session policy blocked the sign-in, a policy on your IdP blocked it. Work with your IdP team to resolve.
  3. If the error says you're not assigned or not entitled to the Riverside application, or access is denied for your email, ask your IdP admin to give you access to Riverside.
  4. Otherwise, ask your IdP team for the following from one failed attempt, and send it to Support:
    • The exact error text
    • The correlation or request ID
    • The timestamp, including time zone
    • The email address that failed

If the issue persists, please contact Support.
