Livestream your recording session to social platforms to reach a broader audience. In addition to specific instructions to set up a live stream to each platform, below are general tips for hosting a live stream on Riverside.
In advance of the live stream
- Send your guests the checklists for recording on a computer or recording on a mobile device.
- Review the Host checklist and tips: Recording on computer.
- Set the live stream video resolution.
- Set the watermark settings.
- Brand your studio.
- Run a live stream test recording.
Day of the live stream
- Check that the platforms you want to live stream to are still connected to Riverside.
- Re-authenticate the platform.
- If you are streaming to scheduled LinkedIn Live Event, retrieve the stream key and URL from LinkedIn as close to the live event start time as possible.
- If you'd like your stream to include video, make sure to set the studio recording type to Video & audio.
- Remind anyone joining as a producer that they cannot be seen and heard in the live stream, even if they turn on their camera and mic. However, those in the Riverside studio can hear and see them.
During the live stream
- For a scheduled live stream, join the scheduled event to start the stream. You cannot start the scheduled event from the studio. You must join the event from the project page.
- Start the live stream on Riverside and the destination platform, if you're using a custom RTMP destination and the platform requires it.
- Keep in mind that it takes around 30 seconds for the video to appear on the sites you are live streaming to.
- Show or hide participants in the studio.
- Interact with viewers via the omnichat.
- Ask someone to keep an eye on chats from people watching on platforms that don't support omnichat.
